D-K 99
Crop Residue Management
A NEW Biological spray designed to speed up the degradation process of incorporated cereal straw and other crop residues.
- Naturally !¨
Contains enzymes which break down the cellulose & glucose elements of the waste material¨
Stimulates soil microbial activity which is necessary for efficient degradation of waste material¨
Speeds up the degradation process it reduces competition for nutrients between the new crop seedlings and the degrading residue¨
Allows more organic nitrogen to be available to the seedlings¨
Improves soil structure, tilth & water retention characteristics - particularly in poor or depleted soilsPacked in 10 Litre containers (2 x 10 Lts per box)
Application Rate - 2.5 Ltrs per Ha (1 Ltr per Acre) in 200 to 300 Ltrs Water per Ha
For Very Heavy Residues (over 8 tonnes per Ha) the rate should be increased to 3 Ltrs per Ha
D-K99 is compatible with liquid fertilisers such as:- Ammonium Nitrate, Urea, Urea/Ammonium Nitrate mix, Ammonium Phosphate.
Designed to help maintain Productivity in an Environmentally Friendly way and Improve your MOST IMPORTANT ASSET
THE LAND YOU FARM

How it works
STRAW
During the early years of straw incorporation the impact on most soils will be a "locking up" of nutrients with an increase in disease carry over on the straw.
The competition from degrading straw can mean difficult or poor seedbed preparation coupled with difficult drilling.
In a continuous grain growing situation Yields are reduced during the first few years (the transitional period) until the microbial balance of the soil adjusts to the new demands placed upon it
D-K99
triggers off the natural process of degradation and ensures that it takes place more quickly & efficiently by improving the micro-environmentMinute holes are created in the rigid structure of the straw. These allow more entry points for the soil bacteria responsible for the degradation of the material. The cellulose and glucose content of the straw provides an abundance of food for the bacteria which multiply rapidly (using nitrogen in the process) and quickly consume the food.
When the food source is exhausted the bacteria die releasing the energy & nutrients back into the soil in a form which is readily available to the growing crop.
At this stage (4 to 6 weeks after incorporation) only the lignin (outer shell) content of the straw remains. This may have still retained its original shape but will break down slowly over the year to add humus to the soil improving its structure without competition to the growing crop.
